STRENGTHENING PARTNERSHIP: EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN HOSTS CAN IKENNE LOCAL GOVERNMENT FORUM
The Executive Chairman of Ikenne Local Government, Hon. Jamiu Muhammed Asimi, today, Wednesday, 9th July 2025, hosted the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Ikenne Local Government Chapter, in his office.
The delegation was led by the CAN Chairman, Pastor Joseph Olu Akanbi, who stated that, the purpose of the visit was to pray for the Executive Chairman, entire Ikenne Local Government Area, Ogun State, and Nigeria at large. He emphasized the need to create awareness about the presence and activities of CAN in the Local Government and to reaffirm the Association’s full support for the current administration.
Pastor Akanbi further highlighted that the body seeks the Chairman's cooperation, concern, and commitment towards the advancement of CAN’s goals in the Local Government. These goals include: Dynamic Evangelism, Welfare and Humanitarian Services,
Community Projects and Infrastructural Development, Recognition and Awards for Distinguished Citizens, Youth Empowerment, Training, and Seminars.
He stressed that the Association is hopeful of receiving the maximum support of the Executive Chairman towards the successful realization of these noble objectives.
Hon. Jamiu Muhammed Asimi in his remarks, expressed deep appreciation to the CAN leadership for their visit, acknowledging the significance of such engagements, regardless of religious affiliation. He assured the Association of his unwavering support and encouraged them to fulfill their statutory obligations and dues, which would in turn enable the Local Government to serve better at the grassroots .
A prayer session was conducted by Venerable Okupe Gbadebo A. (J.P), Pastor Emiola, Pastor Olowolafe, and Rev. Erinle, who led fervent intercessions for the success of the Chairman’s administration.
The Head of Local Government Administration (HOLGA) Mr Oluwole Adeosun FCIA in his vote of thanks, urged the CAN body to continually uphold the Chairman in both personal and collective prayers, so that he will succeed in delivering his mandate.
Other dignitaries present at the meeting were, Mr. Ajibola Adedayo, Director of General Services and Administration (DGSA) Mrs. Adetimehin Kadijat, Director Finance and Supply, Hon. Sodiyan, Supervisor for Health and others.
