BRIEF HISTORY OF IKENNE LOCAL GOVERNMENT

 Ikenne Local Government Area in Ogun State, Nigeria, was created in September 1991 by carving out the former Remo Local GovernmentIts headquarters are located in Ikenne Remo, a semi-urban area comprising five main towns: Iperu, Ilisan, Ogere, Irolu, and Ikenne. The primary occupations of the people are farming and trading, with a significant focus on Remo stock. 

Creation:
  • Ikenne LGA was established in September 1991, derived from the previously existing Remo Local Government. The Local Government consist of Eight

  • Headquarters:
    The main administrative center of Ikenne LGA is the town of Ikenne Remo.

    The Ikenne Development Association (IDA), Ilisan Development Association, Iperu Development Association, Irolu Development Association and Ogere Development Association, this are key organization representing the people and focused on holistic development, including social, physical, and health initiatives.
